米政府、対外人道支援の一部を復活＝関係筋
[ワシントン ８日 ロイター] - トランプ米政権は８日、打ち切りを発表した対外支援プログラムのうち、少なくとも６件の緊急食糧支援を復活させた。６人の関係筋が明らかにした。政権は対外支援をあわただしく停止しては復活させ、国際人道支援計画を混乱させている。
米国際開発局（ＵＳＡＩＤ）のルウィン副局長代行は同日、職員向けの電子メールで、レバノン、シリア、ソマリア、ヨルダン、イラク、エクアドルの６カ国における国連の世界食糧計画（ＷＦＰ）プログラムへの支援復活を要請した。
政権は、国連・国際移住機関（ＩＯＭ）の太平洋地域プログラムに対する支援４件も復活させた。
ルウィン氏は電子メールで「支援について行ったり来たりして申し訳ない」と職員に謝罪し、「私の失敗であり、私が責任を取る」とした。
ロイターは７日、政権がアフガニスタン、イエメン、ソマリア、シリアを含む１０数カ国に対する人道支援１３億ドルを停止したと報じていた。米政府はアフガンとイエメンへの支援は復活させていない。
関係筋２人によると、支援復活は政権内部および議会からの圧力を受けたもの。
ＷＦＰは７日、米政府から１４カ国向けの緊急食糧支援への資金提供打ち切りを通告されたとし、「実施されれば、極度の飢餓に直面する数百万人の人々への死刑宣告に等しい」と危機感を示していた。
