米国のブリンク駐ウクライナ大使が辞任、両国関係一段と不透明感も
[ニューヨーク／ワシントン １０日 ロイター] - 米国務省は１０日、ブリンク駐ウクライナ大使が辞任すると明らかにした。トランプ政権の下でぎこちなくなった米国とウクライナの関係は一段と不透明感が増す可能性もある。
ロイターは以前に政府高官や関係者の話として、ブリンク氏が大使を辞任して国務省を去ることを検討していると伝えていた。
国務省の報道官は、問い合わせに対して電子メールを通じた回答で「ブリンク大使は辞任する。彼女は３年にわたって大使を務めた。戦争地域においては長い期間だ」とコメントした。
また報道官は１０日の定例会見で記者団に「ブリンク大使は戦時下のウクライナで３年間勤務した。現地での働きは際立っており、われわれは今後の彼女の幸福を願っている」と語った上で、政府としては引き続きウクライナの戦争終結に努力していくと付け加えた。
ブリンク氏はバイデン前大統領からウクライナ大使に任命され、２０２２年５月に着任。関係者によると、辞任は自発的な申し出による。
同氏は今月、ロシア軍によるウクライナ首都キーウ（キエフ）へのミサイル攻撃に関するＸへの投稿でロシアを名指しで非難せず、ゼレンスキー大統領から不満を表明される場面もあった。
後任はまだ明らかになっていないが、国務省で東欧地域などを担当するスミス副次官補が候補に挙がっている。
