ＵＮＨＣＲ、来年予算は5分の1削減へ資金難で4000人リストラ

[ジュネーブ　１日ロイター] - 国連難民高等弁務官事務所（ＵＮＨＣＲ）は１日、「財政的制約」を理由に２０２６年の予算を８５億ドルと、２５年の１０２億ドルから約５分の１削減する計画を明らかにした。南部アフリカ局を閉鎖し、約４０００人をリストラする予定だ。

制約の詳細は明らかにされていないが、ＵＮＨＣＲの報道官はここ数年間、予算の資金が実際には半分しか確保されていないと述べた。

ＵＮＨＣＲの主要な資金拠出国である米国は拠出額を縮小し、西側諸国はロシアを巡る懸念の拡大を背景に防衛費の支出を優先している。

南アフリカ・プレトリアにあるＵＮＨＣＲの南部アフリカ局は１０月１日に閉鎖され、東アフリカ局と西アフリカ局が業務を引き継ぐ。南部アフリカ局は職員７２人を雇用し、１６カ国を管轄していた。

ＵＮＨＣＲは主に任意の拠出金に運営を頼っており、米国はこれまで最大の援助国だった。
