トランプ氏、ゴールデン・ドームの詳細発表費用は約1750億ドル

［ワシントン　２０日　ロイター］ - トランプ米大統領は２０日、次世代ミサイル防衛システム「ゴールデン・ドーム」の設計を選定したと発表した。中国やロシアの抑止を念頭に置いた同プロジェクトの主任プログラムマネージャーに、米宇宙軍作戦副司令官のマイケル・グートライン将軍を任命した。

トランプ氏はホワイトハウスで記者会見し、ゴールデン・ドームが「わが国を守ってくれる」と表明。カナダが同プロジェクトへの参画を希望しており、米国はカナダを支援するとの考えを示した。

同防衛システムの費用は約１７５０億ドルに上り、「全てを」米国で製造すると述べた。

トランプ氏は自身の任期が終了する２０２９年１月までに運用開始されるとの見通しを示した。ただ、資金面の不透明感などから、実際の運用には数年を要するとみられる。

同氏はまた、アラスカ州がプログラムの大部分を占めるとし、フロリダ州、ジョージア州、インディアナ州も恩恵を受けると述べた。

トランプ氏が１月に整備を指示していたゴールデン・ドーム計画は、飛来するミサイルを検知、追跡、迎撃するための衛星ネットワーク構築を目的とし、数百基の衛星を配備する可能性がある。
