貿易協議で合意の可能性あるが日本は「タフ」＝トランプ米大統領

[ワシントン１７日ロイター] - トランプ米大統領は１７日、日本との貿易協議で合意する可能性があるとしたが、日本側は「タフだ」と述べた。欧州連合（ＥＵ）については、依然として公正なディールを示していないと語った。

トランプ氏は中東情勢に対応するため、カナダで開催中の主要7カ国首脳会議（Ｇ７サミット）の予定を切り上げたが、ベセント財務長官が現地にとどまると述べた。

ホワイトハウス当局者によると、グリア米通商代表部（ＵＳＴＲ）代表とハセット国家経済会議（ＮＥＣ）委員長もカナダに残り、各国と協議を行う。

トランプ氏はワシントンに戻る大統領専用機で記者団に対し、米国と日本の間で貿易協定が締結される可能性があるとの認識を示した。

「日本側はタフだ。しかし、われわれは最終的には書簡を送り『これだけの金額を支払う必要がある。さもなければ取引する必要はない』と通告するだけだということを理解しなければならない。だが、可能性はある」と語った。

また、ＥＵは長年にわたり米国に対し厳しい態度を取ってきたと主張した。

「われわれは協議を行っているが、ＥＵ側がまだ公正な取引を提示しているとは感じていない。ＥＵは良い取引をするか、われわれが求める金額をそのまま支払うかのどちらかだ」と述べた。

フォンデアライエン欧州委員長はサミットの合間に記者団に対し、７月９日に９０日間の一時停止期間が終了し、より高い相互関税が発効する前に合意に達することが依然として目標だと述べた。

「状況は複雑だが前進しており、それは良いことだ。私は交渉の加速を求めている」とした上で、最終的にどうなるかを見守ると語った。

トランプ氏は医薬品への関税が間もなく導入されるとも指摘。「近いうちに医薬品（の問題）に取り組む予定だ。これにより全ての企業が米国に戻ってくるだろう。企業のほとんどか、少なくとも一部は戻ってくるだろう」と語った。

さらに、次世代ミサイル防衛構想「ゴールデンドーム」について、カナダも一部負担するとの見方を示した。
