［ジュネーブ　２７日　ロイター］ - トランプ米政権が歳出削減に取り組む中で、米国は世界貿易機関（ＷＴＯ）向けの拠出金支払いを凍結している。３人の関係者がロイターに明かした。

トランプ政権は包括的な歳出見直しの一環として「米国第一」の経済政策に反すると見なす国際機関からの脱退や拠出金カットなどを進めている。

米国はＷＴＯにとって最大の資金拠出国。２０２４年のＷＴＯの予算は２億０５００億スイスフラン（２億３２０６万ドル）で、米国はその約１１％を負担する義務があった。

しかし２人の関係者の話では、今月４日に開かれたＷＴＯの予算を話し合う会合で米国代表は、国際機関への拠出金検証作業を続けている間は２４年と２５年の予算分の支払いを留保しており、検証結果を今後知らせると説明した。

３人目の関係者もこの米国代表の発言を事実と認め、ＷＴＯは米国の拠出金支払い凍結が長期化する事態に備えた「プランＢ」を策定中だと付け加えた。

ロイターが入手したＷＴＯの２月２１日付文書に基づくと、２４年末時点で米国の滞納額は２２７０万スイスフラン（２５７０万ドル）。ＷＴＯの規定では、１年以上拠出金の支払いが滞るとその国には３段階で罰則が科される。

２人の関係者によると、現時点で米国は最初の段階にあり、米代表がＷＴＯの諸組織の議長役になれないほか、正式な文書を受け取る資格もなくなる。
